Default Finally back on the road!

After blowing up on the way home from the Nurburgring in June the car has been slowly getting sorted with a MASSIVE amount of help from Jamie (scoobjam74) and Emma.

Managed to source a replacement engine from Zak in Nottingham which Jamie then fitted but my VF35 turbo seemed to be stiff and wouldnt boost properly. After driving about 10 miles with the new engine in the turbo decided to start making noises so I had to find a replacement.

finally got one sorted last week with a helping hand from Emmaroids then Jamie fitted it yesterday. Got to drive it properly for the 1st time in 2 months today but didnt go mad in it.

Done a few things while she's been sat outside. Fitted a newage interior that I picked up from Bigfoot, fitted an Sti speedo cluster (with rev counter in the middle) but need to get it converted to MPH then sent my splitter and fog covers off to the bodyshop for paint so they'll go on before next sundays meet.

The plan is to try and get Zen to do a health check on the car and clean up the map now that its a different engine/turbo on there. Pretty sure it should be ok but for the sake of £70-100 to get it checked over and see what its producing i'd prefer to pay the £ for piece of mind.

Next on the list will be 18's and coilovers, then better brakes and a few other styling touches. Need to sell my 17" Superleggera's to fund some of this tho.

I'm so thankful to Jamie and Emma at the moment for helping me get it back on the road, both have been legends to me

Congrats

I'd be inclined to change the oil though after removing said turbo just incase it spat a few small particles into the intake or through the oil return

Already done chap

Wonder if my old turbo is worth anything? I know harvey can rebuild them but i'm not sure what the costs are. If anyone wants to swap it for something for a classic let me know.

Drop Harvey a message, maybe he'll buy it off you, repair it and then sell it on

is it the same as this? and does it have wiring instructions?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1204460388...ht_1754wt_1139

Apparently it needs to be for a V5/6 or it wont work?

Well that didnt last long. Suffered oil starvation to the replacement turbo due to a blocked oil feel line so another VF35 is toast

Going to take the engine out, thoroughly flush it and replace the rocker gaskets etc as it seems that at some point someone has used silicone on them to fix a leak and this is what we found in the oil feed line.

On the lookout for a VF35 if anyone has one.
