I was told 80ft would do headers by RCM.

Make sure you get the sealing spray too.

To be honest I cant remember what size tape it was. Suspect 50mm. May be best to give them a call anyhow, I may be well off the mark. Trying to find a post from ages ago just after I asked them but having no luck. lol

The spray seals the tape so it holds the heat better. You will need to wire the tape into place on the headers to secure & then spray it all.

Sorry I cant be of more help. Sure someone will come along any minute and put me straight!!!

Harvey can supply the correct DEi heat wrap, ties (tie device) and spray as required

It's been a while since mine were wrapped (I chickened out and got them wrapped by Harvey as he was porting the headers, all those bits of wire looked a bit "stabby" to me with my delicate hands)... Best to e-mail or PM Harvey

You require 50 feet of 2" DEI heat wrap.
Apply damp but not wet so that the chemicals do not flow out.
Keep it tight.
The DEI has stitching down the side. Follow this for an overlap guide.
Do each runner individually. Use wedges if necessary.
Look at the link above Post 11 gives a link to a guide.

DO NOT use the spray. This makes the wrap brittle and in time it flakes off.

I probably have half a dozen cans of spray unused. If it was any good I would have used it or sold it. I suspect it is a gimmic brought out by the vendors of wrap to increase their prophit lines. It may also partially cater for those that do not like to see steam coming off recently wrapped headers??? Not sure.
The only application I can see is where the headers will be rewrapped every season on a rally car which is subject to physical damage anyway.
I commented on S/Net recently that on my own car(s) I have headers in VGC wrapped over three years ago, Alcazar came on to say the headers he got from me which were secondhand and already wrapped were still VGC and someone else came on to say the headers I wrapped for them five years ago were still in good condition.
Do it properly in the first place with quality wrap and it does last a long time.
