Default 8-10k Blobeye Hunting!

Hi guys,

Relatively new on here, been looking to buy an STI for the last couple of months and thought the best place to find one would be here. I've been doing the rounds on Pistonheads/Autotrader/Ebay but haven't yet found 'the gem' i'm after. Here's what im looking for:

2004/2005 Blobeye STI preferably with PPP. Looking for a low mileage (less than 30,000 miles if possible) model, in silver (crystal grey) and one that has had no mechanical modifications, is totally standard (styling mods are OK), got Full service history and is obviously in good condition. As the title says, looking to spend between 8-10k.

There is one for sale in the for sale section now but its a bit too far to travel (8 hours according to google.) Travelling wouldnt be an issue otherwise but 8 hrs is a ball ache.

One I have been keeping tabs on is this one:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1558631.htm

Its a bit too overpriced in my opinion and im not a fan of the bluebottle fly headlight covers. Would they be easy enough to remove? Any advice would be awesome. But something like this minus the covers and for cheaper would be ideal.

Any advice/tips on other places to look? Or do you know of one for sale I might be interested in? Fancy selling me yours?

I know this is turning out to be quite a selfish little thread but I thought you guys could help.

Anyway all the best

Craig

Hi welcome to the forums , I think they will becoming less and less common with those sort of miles remembering we are talking about cars that are around 7 years old. 9,5k plus these days buys you a hawkeye. I wouldnt let the 8 hours put me off I would catch a cheap flight down to the car and spend 8 hours driving it home.

Good luck with your search

How about that one - Seems a gem - Perfect condition - Hardly used - less than 30k, However a bit over the budget ...

Seen it in person like - V nice indeed if I do say so...

Not an STI mate really a WRX with PPP and some STI bits added to make it a special edition UK300

Yeah I did think that but the mileage cant argue with that like ... Is mint. Not sure if I would fork out that amount.

Cheers topman, yeah your right low mileage blobeye's are becoming quite rare. A couple of months back when I first started looking they seemed to be for sale everywhere.

Funny you say that about a hawkeye, a nice one's just come up on PH, what you think? A little bit out of my budget but may get it for 10k.. http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3152265.htm
