hks super dragster exhaust -how loud ?
does anybody have the above exhaust fitted to a uk turbo 2000 ?
if so how loud are they ?
the one im looking at is 3'' streight through, the reason i ask is because the wife leaves the house at 05:30 ! the last one did'nt go down to well ( full 3'' de-cat ).
does anyone have any pics of them fitted ?
thanks

I have a HKS super dragger back box and tbh I wouldn't mind something a little louder. Its a 3" decat system and a 4" (I think) exit pipe. Mine however does have a resonator in the middle section. Maybe that is something you could look in to
Oh and sorry, no pics of mine

sounds good to me !
the last one i had was a cobra sport system, it was a brilliant exhaust but when the car started up at 05:30 it sounded like the police helicoptor was on the roof , i didn't help that i religiously let the engine warm before a wheel turned !

Depends on what you say is loud etc. I think mine is quite quiet on tick over, not too shabby when driving (I try to keep the boost to a minimum) and under full throttle it roars pretty well. But depends on where its parked late at night really. As mine is parked down my drive with the house one side and a 6 foot wall the other, its pretty loud. But on the street its ok
It does look huge though hanging out the back lol

as long as its not too offensive on tick over it should be fine, how much does it stick out of the rear, on the picture it looks quite short ?
thanks

You are better off not letting the car sit and idle on start up, just drive it nice and steady below 3k. The car will warm up better and also reduces coking up the system plus you are also running on auto choke and canning the fuel.

I got an HKS super dragger on my sti 97. still got cats on tho (taking off soon tho) and I think my scoob is one of the quiter ones around mate. . .my bro's WRX is louder with the prodrive box on it. .

my exhaust comes out about half an inch from my bumper and looks great. . like a family sized pack of beans . . .gives the engine note a nice purr like a scoob should have. . it sounds nice and smooth too. . not raspy or aggressive. .and you hear the engine in the high revs very well too over the noise from the exhaust. . .

The HKS is moderate sounding exhaust......but will say that theres not an exhaust that sounds like it......it definitely has its own unique sound.......loved it on my old uk2000
