Default centre diff

does my car have a centre diff and someone told me that if you pull up the handbrake while moving and lock the rear wheels you will cause major gearbox damage,
im not going to do this anyway as i grew out of handbrake turns years ago but it sounds like rubbish to me but is it true?

Yes you have a centre diff, and no a quick handbrake turn is very unlikely to do any harm to it.

IMHO.

You have a suretrack front diff and a viscous center diff with a 60 40 split front to back. Handbrake turns will wear out the rear shoes that's all.
