Question Weird low speed resistance and grinding problem

Hi

About 2 months ago, I was dropping a friend off and as a I parked in their car park I felt the car resist moving forward and heard a grinding noise, I tried to reverse the car assuming something was in my path and the same, resistance to move the car and a grinding noise.

So with the car immobile I called the AA out and waited, when he arrived the problem had disappeared and despite me performing several low speed turning manoeuvres and circles we couldn't replicate it. I later put it in to my local Subaru dealer and they found nothing too.

Today it happened again!

Pulled into a car park, very low speed and just as I was parking in a bay, that grinding noise and resistance to move the car forward.

This time I was in a hurry to do a job, so I went on site and came out to the car 2 hours later, nothing! no issue at all

Has anyone else had the same problem? I am slightly concerned about my car as I'm due to go on a cross France driving holiday soon.

Car was being driven straight at very low speeds and since the car has only covered 17,000 miles I have no idea about oil, it had a 10k service at the correct interval though.

When I say resistance to move, I mean I could hardly shift the car at all, I suppose if I was brutal with the clutch and accelerator it would have moved but I didnt want to force it.

AA man, although clutching at straws, did try and suggest hill start sensor having a paddy and binding the brakes. Not sure how possible that is as the car was on level ground and travelling forward.
