Default Cambelt Intervals?

So, I have had my Bug WRX about 3 years...had the cambelt done when I got it at 70k miles at ScoobyClinic()
.....the guranteed it for 45k miles and I am now on 113k miles..
....but...I also could do with new front pads, a major service(diff, plugs etc) and the tax is due(148/6months)
.....so, do I wait a bit longer for the cambelt?
.....or, try and afford everything!!!

....Basically means not going out for 5 weeks!!!

Get it done. Simple as that...
If the cambelt goes then you'll not be going out for a lot longer than 5 weeks.

Defo get your belt done and sign upto www.groupon.co.uk as they often have discounted "car services & mot's" on at a fraction of the cost. Granted these shouldn't be used as a complete replacement to scoobyworld but if you are stretched for cash they could tie you over a few weeks until you can afford a proper service!

Thanks for the replies guys....

....my wife got me thinking the un-thinkable earlier though....

...she came home and I told her that if I had EVERYTHING done that could do with being done then it would be...
1. Cambelt
2. Major Service
3. Tax (6months)
4. Brake Pads
Its gonna cost...£660---now thats not bad for all that....BUT...she was like....why don't you sell up and get another one with lower miles?

Even my mechanic was saying that there are some beauties around for less than 3k? Bugeyes?

Now I am torn....is it better the devil you know? I love my baby....yeah, she has a little rust spot where a stone chipped her, someone scratched the drivers arch, the bumper and bonnet have quite a few stone chips and one of the anthracite prodrive alloys has some scratching....but I know her inside out.....do I risk it all on another Bug with around 80k on the clock or keep on with mine at 113k?
She has NEVER let me down and has NEVER skipped a beat

Ahhhhhhh....I kinda feel dirty talking about ditchin her ..LOL!
Crazy ****

What do I do?

I'd also check whether that price (£660) includes getting all the pulleys and tensioners/idlers replaced or just the cambelt?

I had to get everything replaced on mine @90Kmiles a few weeks ago and the price jumped from £200 to £400

If it does I'd say stick with the devil you know. From so many threads on here there are too many horror stories of cars going bang after a couple of weeks of ownership.

You would also take quite a hit on the price of yours due to the buyer having to do all that work.

Well guys....I had a good sleep on it..LOL!

I just can't see how it could be better to sell up...

Most of the Bugs for less than 3k have over 100k miles on them...a few have over 130k miles...and maybe 1 or 2 have high 80's.....so, there is no point...
also, the ones that are forsale are mostly standard and boring...mine is beautiful..LOL(I am biased)
I booked in the cambelt for next week....he said that he will replace the tensioners and stuff if needed but it will be extra £50 for those..so, not bad)
I have just booked a week in Somerset with the wifey...so, gonna have to wait on the service and brakes(they are not down to the indicators yet)

I am off for 6weeks now so, I am gonna try and give her some tlc and maybe even attempt the brake pads

Thanks for all the support and replies guys!
