Question

Just out of interest roughly how many hits are we getting a month now.

I'm sure I read a thread about a year ago that said over 1 million. I'm probably wrong though.

Hi Dave

Things have moved on considerably since then.

We now have over 5 million hits a month

All the best

To put that into perspective, the Met Office website (http://www.metoffice.com/) has around 5.5 million hits a month. This can rise to 8 million during flooding (like last year), but even so

Cheers

Webbie

Is that 5 million hits or unique visitors?

Hi Chaps

Dream Weaver, unique visitors is much lower.

It's really difficult to analyse unique visitors. I never trust the stats as you could have one person with 50 different IP addresses in one month. Or you could have many people using the same IP address.

The hits on the muppet show is actually only a tiny fraction believe it or not.

Cheers

Don't be confused into thinking the site is receiving 5 million seperate visitors a month. The number of hits is normally taken from the number of server requests recieved by the site. A server request is made for each image and html page downloaded from the server, i.e. every smiley. etc

5 million hits is still impresive for a single make car owners website (even though most of the content has nothing to do with Subarus :rolleyes : )
