Default Insurance Rant.......

I've just received my renewal. Despite owning the same car for 5 years, its garaged, in a good postcode area and not claiming for 14 years my renewal has gone up £100! Do these companies not want to keep our business?? I don't believe insurance companies costs have gone up that much to warrant shafting us all like this ........and breathe
Best do some shopping around then

My insurance went up circa £150 and my mrs' insurance went up circa £100!

Few phone calls later both were had (with better policies) for less than the previous years insurance!

If yours is a Uk car try aviva, had a blinding deal on the mrs' car. Although her car is a STD Uk turbo.

hi guys,

had same problem 40yrs old and quoted £750 added my wife who only has a provisional licence and for some unexplained reason it dropped to £535,

asked why it goes down and not up for a high risk driver "because you are less of a risk if your married" shes only had 1 lesson and i swore never again!

might be worth putting your mrs on the policy.

There are loads of people complaining about him im sure he is a top bloke I've sent numerous pms left messages etc still no reply in nearly 3 weeks either Keith Michaels need to realise there potentially losing thousands of pounds in lost business and employ more people or set guide lines for performance cars that all staff adhere to not just moley i actually feel sorry for him cos from what i make of it he is only trying to help

Sometimes quote take a while to get, especially for high risk postcodes.

Maybe i should stick to the 'easy' quote to free up time, and refuse to help people like you who's quotes need a bit more work?

I have to say that, whilst you're normally pretty busy, I can normally get through to you after 4 or 5 attempts on the phone mate, you just have to be patient.

And your attitude is always professional, and the quotes you normally give me are very competitive, which is why I've been with KM for the last 5 years!

As for "Loads of people complaining" about you - first I've heard of it!
People in the know stick with an insurer who want to keep their business by offering a decent quote.
Sure, I could go with a comparison website, but I'd never get them to agree to insure all my mods....

I want decent insurance at a competitive price - and that's why I still call Gary when my renewal comes up...

Who said anything about being poor? Thanks for advice though.

If i go to an underwriter who i've referred a quote to and ask them to hurry up with the price, they are hardly going to do me any favours are they?

the being poor bit was tongue in cheek, i appreciate what you do for people with excellent results, we just find the lack of communication stressful, my comments are meant to be constructive and never to be taken as me being funny/disrespectful. what i don't get is why only you at the company can give the quotes you give, why cant everyone there do what you do, seriously what you do for people is fantastic.

My little rant...
insured last week on our m98 turbo 2000 wagon. Thought it had standard alarm etc... called insurance today having found out it has a Thatcham cat1 alarm. Yippee!
they wanted to ADD 25quid to my premium.... hmm. Admin charge outweighs the benefit aparently.
not sure about that...
I feel a letter of complaint coming on...
