Impreza STI Water Leak
Hi all, new to Subaru ownership (3 weeks in!) thought I would join here to contribute where possible and also pick your brains..
I've got a hawkeye 2006 STI in blue with gold wheels, completely standard and has done 27,500 miles.
I've noticed a slight knock from the rear at low speeds, which I'm guessing is the rear shocks (from using the search function)
I also have a slight water leak from the exhaust when its cold. I'm guessing the exhaust may be leaking or is it common for an Impreza to produce so much condensation? I'm hoping worst case scenario is the exhaust gaskets need replacing. As previously stated its a standard exhaust to my knowledge (still with CAT).
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum
Suspension knocks are all too common They can either be worn top mounts or worn shocks, I've got both passenger sides knocking on my classic and it's getting on my nerves.
With the water leak are you noticing a loss of water from the engine? If not it could be a build up of condensation in the exhaust just like you see in any other car

I've not checked my coolant level yet, it was something I noticed the other day and I shrugged it off as "someone elses car must have done that". Saw it again tonight which made me realise its mine.
If it was the coolant would it not be creating a hellish amount of smoke?
I'm going to put it on axle stands tomorrow and start it up, should be easy enough to find.. I hope! The car doesnt smell of fuel when stationary etc which makes me think its not leaking, however there is a strange tick sometimes when power is applied.

As other's have said it sounds like condensation so nothing to worry about.
Rear shock knocks are common and by all accounts an easy fix.
