UK Turbo 2000 - rear arches
One of the rear arch lip protection strips was coming loose on my Turbo 2000 and to be honest I have been putting off looking at it as wondered if the dreaded tin worm was the cause.
Anyway after the dullest F1 GP of the year I decided to take a look and removed the protection strip. Cleaned behind it with a toothbrush (soft) and some water and lo and behold not a sign of rust. Then did the other side and that is the same... no rust.
I am pretty happy with that. The arches are as sound as thre day the car was built 11 years ago
Now do I bother reinstalling the strips? One needs replacing as for some reason it had split which was what was causing it to be loose at one end.

Hi
My new age had them, and like yours one had split so I just took them both off.
They prob protect the arch from stone chips, but lots of other car manufacturers dont use them, so should be ok without.

Yup, got it. In which case they have done a good job keeping the arches tidy. I would coat the arch with waxoyl-a-like and replace them over the top of it.
