what are the differences when people speak of long or short engines? thanks Pete

Short engine is the block only with pistons/crank, etc - in most cases. It will not usually include the heads, manifolds and ancillaries.

Always ask for a written list of what it includes if you are buying to make sure you are getting exactly what you want/expect
