Default stupid question

hi,i know this sounds stupid but thought id double check before buying as stranger things have happened!
my cv boot (98 sti type r) has perished,so just need to know if it is an inner or outer.
its on the drivers side the one that connects to gearbox.
commen sense tells me its inner but thought id make sure before i order the wrong one.
also best place to buy one?
many thanks.

Inner = gearbox to output/drive shaft
Outer = Output/drive shaft to hub assembly
