Question Advice needed on CEL..

Evening all,

I have a problem with my CEL keeps randomly coming on and cam position sensor being shown as the fault, it has happened on 3 different sensors now and could really do with some idea's on what would cause it I think i remember reading somewhere that a faulty Neutral position switch could cause this?! The car runs fine other than a bit jerky first thing and also when accelerating occasionally. I would really like to get to the bottom of this now as it is starting to annoy me now

Thanks for all tips

Bugeye random CEL generator........ mine hates being anywhere near the rev limiter and throws up camshaft position sensor errors. It's something I live with

The EGT light is on at the moment as the resistor fix isn't playing the game.....meaqns I don't notice any other errors.

Faulty NPS gives misfire CEL's usually.

I never go near the rev limiter mate, the cel comes on even when plodding around or at idle can anyone think of a possible culprit?

AFAIK the Cam sensor is a magnet that passes over a keeper (rather like a magnet of a bike computer attached to the spokes) and in the early days of multipe camshaft CEL problems when the bug was launched some people took it off for cleaning and reseated the sensor which helped some folks........
