Default sti inlet manifold

Hello All

I have a 2005 blob wrx with the ****ty tumble valves which keeps sticking closed causing major issues.
so i was thinking is it possible to fit a sti inlet manifold without the tgv's,

if so would it cause issues with the engine management system

I think they should work ok. There is a video some where to show you what to remove, its not that difficult. But if you can get an Sti one, rock on.

HI,

delete the TGV, will put a CEL light on, you will have to have ecu tweaked to remove this feature, or light will come back on,
hope this helps.

Best to do is using JDM STi v8 which are TGV Free or you can port yours(on nasioc is few guides),but you must delete TGV Cel via EcuEdit,Romraider or other sw.

yeah i am but fuel economy is down to like 10 mpg and no power what so ever revs limit at 4k i used a 1/4 of a tank in 14 miles so as you can see this is now a matter of ergency as its getting dangerous trying to pull out in rush hour traffic with no boost

But your will need to get your ecu tgv cell deleted. Nightmare. I had the same problem, and my garage sorted it within 2 hours.

Get a second hand set of tumblers (as it happens I have a set) and do the delete yourself - I wouldn't want to do it in a day as it took me a week of evenings to do it properly on my other set, removing the divider and steps etc. Then just a couple of hours to swap them over one weekend.

You may get limp mode until the CEL code is cleared, I did get a CEL but not limp mode (2002 WRX).

the thing that doing my head in the most is the cel will stay on the next day i get full power with cel on and then the next day the cel is off on the way to work but comes back on on the way home and then complete lack of power again for a week
