ALARM SYSTEMS - CAT1...IMMBOLISER...TRACKER
just wondering what type of alarm everyone is using?
standard factory fitted alarm or a aftermarket alarm ?
how much did it cost to fit ?
have you had any problems with it ?
which features does it include the following (e.g remote start)

Don't think many will post this info on a public forum security is a bit close to heart but as my car is jdm can say it isn't factory fitted and no gimmicks like remote start etc

Toad alarm here. Can't remember model. but added a Tilt sensor, area sensor (the one that beeps when in a certain distance). sensors all around the interior and boot/bonnet/petrol flap. all adjustable sensors too sensitivity distance etc.
Came to about 450 about 3 years ago. Never given me any problems, never had to even change the fob battery yet.
Great service all round, super fast fitting too done at my house.
You can add extras too like remote start, auto window up/down etc and sms alerts.
Got mine by calling them from their site at toadalarm.com
I'd definitely use them again.. vivig I bet I wouldn't get it for that price now
Had tracker separate though.

I had a Clifford concept 600 wich came with a blackjax, proximity sensor and turbo timer built in(operated via alarm fob).
Had the alarm transferred from one car to another and it ran without fault for more than 9 years.it's still going strong now...
I would strongly recommend Clifford alarms-I think the problems arise from poor fitting-mine took a day and a half to fit properly in a workshop and not a couple of hours on a driveway by a mobile installer.
You can have autostart added to the cheaper concept alarms but is standard on the higher end models.
I think the Clifford Is around £4-500.
I regret paying for a tracker as well as the blackjax, when fitted correctly will stop the car being driven far-even with the keys.
Ive had a blackjax fitted to my new car as I really rate it...

iirc it is cliffords anti car jacking system... basically when the system detects a sudden change in revs etc after about 200yds it cuts the engine, sets all the lights flashing, locks the doors and sounds the siren.. It did on my old MK4 astra anyway...

I have a cobra alarm which one I am unsure, which was fitted to the car when I purchased it. I would have had another make if I had the choice , from my local Auto sparxs.
It also has Tracker, fitted and something like the blackjax! a anticar jacking system, so if the car is driven with the keys, and the small micro switch is not pushed the car will grind to a hault.
A very good fitment regarding the costs. Mine was £180 if I remember correctly?

Sigma m30
Hi I have a classic my99 scooby with the factory fit sigma m30 alarm but it has started to trigger the alarm when I use the fob to lock the doors and activate the alarm. So I am having to lock the car with the key which does not set the alarm. The car does the same when I try to unlock it with the remote fob..
Any help would be much appreciated.....
