Ok quick one. as you can see by the picture attatched i am getting a very dirty black exhaust is there any common reason for this?

i am also getting a very slight puddle near the lip of the exhaust i have spoke to my garage who states as my car has been in the garage for the last 3 weeks he said its condensation in the back box and is causing water to be released and boil so making the exhaust look jet black (I am dubious)

but as it hasnt been drivin for 3 weeks and there is ZERO smoke when the engine is running i am thinking it could be true.

any idea or help would be great.

Happend with my scooby mate when it was layed up...especially when cold. Run it for a wee while and drive around and try again a few hours later...should be fine

The blackening of the zorst is down to slighty too rich a mix, nothing to worry about imho (you only need to worry when its too lean). The water is as said condensation, have you got any stainless parts on the exhaust (centre, backbox) as this will accentuate it. I've had the same on both my classics..

Stainless exhaust will cause alot of condensation, its normal, as is the soot on the exhaust, especially if they dont get fully warm on journeys.
