Come on, who's had one, who's got one and on which cars?

I've had one - twice, one on my Vectra and the other for a short spell on my Astra Coupe.

The Vectra was a 4-1 manifold, no cat, no centre box, with the cherry bomb back box, i once got asked to leave my gf's house early in the evening or the following morning because every time i started the car i woke the niehbours kids up, who lived 4 doors down. Hand on heart you could hear me downshifting 1/2 a mile away!

The Astra Coupe was a 4-2-1 manifold, sports cat, race tube and Cherry bomb, not as loud as the Vectra, but sounded more manly for some reason.

although my brother had one on his Nova for about a week heh

 

I had one on my MG Metro 20 years ago, dam it was loud

 

 

My mate had one on his civic vtec, the noise was mental when it hit vtec rpm limit

What's a cherry bomb? I've never tuned up a 4 banger hatch....never went through that stage.

 

had one on my first mk2 escort in about 1990

used to take great pleasure in settign off car alarms wheever i went.
on ce my old man actually timed how long he could hear my car for before i got home. we worked it out to be about 1/3 of a mile

this was the era of the peco big bore!

 

I had a big bore4 on my nova, when i was 17, it also got transfered onto my second car a 1.1 205 after a smashed the nova

 

I had many years ago a pair in a capri wow it was loud. I Do currently have one on the middle of my sti. Just using it as a resonator as it was too loud to pass noise tests with just the h & s back box. I quite impressed with it, Has made the car almost stock sound when on cruise but get plenty of sound when giving it some.

 

Had one twice, one on a Mini, but the more memorable was on a MkII Mexico with bespoke manifold and exhaust.

 

Ha ha ! That's brought back memories. Had a Peco on my MK2 Fester 1.4 !!! What a load of **** !!! Also had a Cherry Bomb on my Sunbeam TI !!!

I had 1 one on a 950 mk2 fiesta with a straight through pipe when i was 17, all noise no go
Was very loud.
