Default Car Passed the MOT

Took the car for an MOT this morning, it passed
But only just got through on the emissions.

Is there a setting for prodrive/mapped on the kit that the MOT inspector uses to test the emissions.

If so anyone know what it is!
And I'll take it back next week and do a re-check

Thanks

Warren

nope. mainly the year of the car dictates what emissions it needs to comply with.
The prodrive kit has a sports cat on it i think? in which case they have to get pretty hot to become effective.
I stuck my car on the gas analyzer few weeks ago and had to hold the revs a bit to get it through at first, but i dont think the fact my tailpipe is 4.5" helps, as it makes it harder to get the probe far enough into the exhaust so that it isnt measuring to much o2

Why do you want to take it back if you passed? You have the readings, they won't change no matter what standard they are compared against

No sports cat on a PPP Spec D, But it does get one removed so you only have the standard down pipe cat on. If it passed I wouldn't worry about it, They always say things like "oh it just scrapped through on emissions mate"

Its only because I've spent ££'s on the thing having the engine rebuilt when the head gaskets went. And I was concerned it might not get through next years MOT as it's on the limit now.

The guy did say to me that he had to get it pretty hot in order to get a passable reading. It also might be due to the fact that the exhaust is a Tracktive Solutions exhaust with only one fastlow sport cat

Not a Prodrive system then
Did you have it remapped for the change of exhaust?

sports cat are hit and miss anyway, even when hot. Theyre designed to only just scrape through tbh lol. wouldnt worry about it. And take into consideration what i said in my previous post too.
