Default Fan run-on for cooling.

Hi Chaps,
I have noticed if my engine is hot after a run & that the fan is on at the first ignition switch position & goes off when the ignition is off.

Is it possible or has anyone wired the fan thermostat to by-pass the ignition so that if the engine is hot the fans will run-on after the ignition is off too aid cooling i.e. the fans will keep running until the thermostat cuts out.

I have had a few cars that have had this function, you can still hear the fans running after you have locked the car, seems like a good idea.

I have a 2000 Legacy B4(abuse expected) so don't know if this is the same situation for Imprezas.
