Please can you give me your feedback good/bad about the handling after fitting a front splitter.

TBH most fit them for looks, for real world driving there is no real benefit, on a track though when pushing it they could help with a little downforce at the front.

i read somewhere that they do help with aerodynamics.think it was up to 5mph quicker over a set distance compared to one without...when mine broke i felt that my scoob was a bit more understeary (is that a word)...and felt better again when i replaced it..could of all been in my head thou.

I suppose a genuine one, like that made and sold for the P1, MIGHT make the car a little quicker at VERY high speed, but those made to look good? Seriously doubt it.

V Limited style front splitter on Newage does seem to have benefit, but not so much from air down force onto it like rear wing, but minimizing air going under car, below in the info from Prodrive aero pack, note also just lowering has positive effect as well

Forget downforce its about drag reduction and its relative. When I dropped my old Sport you could certainly feel a difference, when I did the same to my STi I didn't notice a thing. Theory would suggest a couple of bhp saved at speed is quite likely and I seem to remember Prodrive suggesting the P1 ~5bhp @ 100mph or similar.

And don't get me started on 'diffusers'

Ht Autos looks good didnt notice any improvement with handling.

yeah both splitters & diffusers for road use are really for looks, but if correctly designed and in most cases that design is not street compatible do work, F1 engineering site has some good design articles on both including wing design as well, and when you see the rear diffuser needs to at least stick out 12" from the rear to be effective you can understand why it's not practical, same goes for front splitter for it to be effective means you would never be able to go up/down ramps or get over speed humps.

plus the speeds at which they are effective usually 100+ means on the street your better off without the drag & or weight it adds

Indeed you do, but all that has been said, nothing wrong if someone wants to fit them to their cars because it can add the finishing touch, and adding an extra 2" to the bottom of the front bumper will add some benefit as it will allow less air under but then dropping the car will do the same thing.

So for the money to improve the handling whether it's classic or newage I'd go with suspension mods as they'll be beneficial at slower as well as faster speeds & help with the acceleration & braking.

you wont notice any difference tbh. easy to damadge on kerbs.
suspension mods, good tyres and weight loss will seriously improve handling

I Cant seem to keep a splitter in one piece on my hawkeye, given up now. Has any one had a HT Autos one for more than 1.5 years?

All my experiences of having splitters on the front of my cars is they only seem to last a short while before you either rip/crack on a speed hump/ramp or pull into a kerb and grind the corner off. The one below was bloody expensive carbon fiber and even that only managed 3 months, but did look good and finish the front end off nicely.
