Default Easy Insect Removal

You all know what it is like, you spend hours cleaning your pride and joy and take it for a spin as the sun is shinning only to find out on your return that your car now looks like a huge bug swatter.

I have just tried Pampers Baby Wipes on the bug stains and they come of like a hot knife through butter, even the dried on corpses which take a little bit more rubbing come of easily.

I bought an expensive leather sofa and bought the proper manufacturers cleaning and care kit, but on speaking to a salesman after purchase he said "look if you want to give your sofa a quick going over use good baby wipes, as they will not harm even delicate leather" and after some thought if it is ok to use them on new born babies and high grade leather, i thought well it can do no harm to my paintwork as they contain no chemicals or alcohol.

Once all the bugs were gone i did hose the area thoroughly and the water came off in sheets.

I do not know if it is improper to use them on vehicle paintwork as know most household cleaning products are too harsh to use, but as they are mean't for babies they cannot be harmful surely, i have tried them on my car and the bugs came off super easy, but only use them on your own car at your own discretion.

BTW, i cleaned all my dash, steering wheel and door shut rubbers with them too and it looks good and smells like baby skin

Gaz

id be wary about using baby wipes if u have leather seats, i remeber reading on a detailing site that they strip all the mositure and chemicals away from it and not far down the line everything starts cracking. Iam sure its fine on vinyl though

Found the link ! http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/leathercare.html

Hate any1 to ruin some good seats , but like i said they prob ok on the rest of the car

pramas - thanks for the link i have told my misses NOT to use baby wipes on the leather sofa from now on, i don't have a leather interior in my car the only leather part is the steering wheel.

This proves it is always wise to ask around before you try something new.

madscoob - It is amazing that normal household items can often do something else they were never originally intended to do, a good tip.

I bought some insect remover from Lidl, it does exactly what it says on the bottle, effortlessly.

I just use a damp microfibre cloth. I have to wash my work car almost every day, microfibre cloths are my saviour.

Best thing I have found for removing bugs is Autoglym Interior spray.
