Default Labour cost to replace crank pulley?

How much should this cost? No other work just to replace standard one with lightweight alloy one. I know other things need to come out to make room such as radiator..

Really? 3 different mechanics have told me the radiator will need to be removed to make it more practical to work on

Mate, i am sure you can do it yourself... Slacken alternator belt, Remove pulley. Refit pulley, Refit belt, and tighten...

Do you have money to throw away lol!

It can be done by a competent machanic, but if the pulley is fast on the crankshaft, how's he to get it off?

Even allowing for radiator removal, and refilling the cooling system, I'd say and hour for a waorkshop.

So anywhere between £45 and £75 plus the pulley cost.

Are you doing the other two at the same time?

And if your pulley has been moving about, think about a new alternator bellt at the same time

Depending how bad the belt has been wobbling it may have damaged the alternator bearing aswell.

As a couple of guys said it can be done quite easily, no need to remove radiator.
Have a look at this video on HSPN.

What kind of tools are needed. Anything special for the pulley itself?

Nothing. A breaker bar, socket set and a friend to put his foot on the brake.

You shouldnt need thread locke, all you need to do is torque the bolt to 33lbs,on the plastic cam belt cover you will see angles marked on it.What you do then is torque up to 94lbs as long as it takes 45 degrees or more to get the 94lbs its job done. All i did was wacked the car in fifth gear to remove and refit. If you want to give it a few more lbs torque you can a lot do but thats what subaru recommend.

Probably is i always used to use it as well, but for some reason subaru tell you to apply oil to the thread instead,i think it might be because the bolt stretches instead of being the old non stretch type??
