Hi there was wondering if anyone has sold their car to someone abroad? and really what to look out for?

i know of a lad that sold his car to someone in Norway. same things you'd look out for in the UK, don't get ripped off really.

make sure the money is cleared into your bank before you hand over the keys or cash on collection. There was a member on here who recently sold to a over-seas buyer and also delivered the car to him at a price, i am sure someone will remeber the username on here.

i live overseas and to be honest its no different to if you were selling to some one in the uk deposit to hold car, cash is king or funds cleared in your bank before keys handed over

Thanks for the advice. Ive sold the car and the funds have cleared into my account, the guy is coming on Friday and he wants to pick up the car from Heathrow instead of seeing the car 1st (crazy). Does anyone know what documents I have to hand over to him?

Its really no diffrent selling the car to someone abroad, sold my sti last weekend the guy came over from belgium had no problems, invest in a money checker.

Thats ok the money is in my bank already, do I just give him the V5 green slip like you do in the uk?
