Help Setting Up Track Car
Hi all, just looking for some advice on must do Mods to turn my car into a serious track car.
Did my first one two weeks ago and now have at least 5 lined up including the nurburgring in 3 weeks
I've got the bug bad
Car so far:-
2003 STI running around 300 bhp
Tein flex coilovers
Two piece grooved discs
Yellow stuff Pads
next is rollcage
I guess obvious ones like ARB's and strut braces then
Any things else????

Be careful, insurance companies don't like cages! I'ld have one but my insurance won't let me ha.
Handling
ARB's, Drop links, Poly bushes, Whiteline Anti Lift Kit, is your car lowered? Whiteline Bump Steer/Adjust kit. Tyres, geometry setup (Camber, toe, caster.).
Fully functioning front splitter/spoiler joint to the chassis.
Depends on what you want really. I started with brakes as when i went out i didn't feel confident with my OEM brakes, then i got poly bushes, Whiteline Anti Lift Kit and Whiteline Bump Steer/Adjust kit.
ARB's and drop links along the line eventually but i'm thinking stripping the car first and some more power.
Thanks
Sam

Yeah the car being low is a issue, mayve raise it and then on track lower it ha?
ARB's will make the most noticeable differenece, evenm though i have done all my bushes i can't directly say i've noticed a huge imporovement but i'm sure it has, on track even more so putting them under pressure.
The Whiteline Anti Lift Kit is a new mounting and comes with a polybush which replaces the main control arm resr bush, so this is worth getting if you are going to be replacing this bush anyway, cost more but they are worth it.
If you go on the Powerfles website and select your car you can see all the bushes available to change.
Thanks

If you mean should it be a flat floor ideally yes, all the way back to a diffuser. These ones come in different sizes and you choose one closest to a 70mm front overhang. They start at the back of the bumper which picture doesnt quite show!

Really depends on your budget and from this you can try some ideas.
Perfectly or optimally if car is equipped with flat floor and rear diffuser you will be have most downforce(best is ask Duncan@Race Dynamix) and front splitter which will be bolted to chassis, because some splitters are just for show and some diffusers are not-designed in CFD/aero tunnels.
And perfectly upgrade as above suggest@Saalro plus i would suggest also uprated pads with discs.

Talking about Oil what would you suggest.
I was going to go with titan pro s 10w50 for engine
Maybe silkolene syn 5 75/90 for box and rear diff but am reading different views on it

If you are dropping it on the floor, get Whiteline bump steer kit on to sort the steering geometry/roll centre out...
An ALK will help to some degree, and if the top mounts are adjustable swap left to right and use to add caster...
HTH
dunx
P.S. What tyres ? If you end up with slicks seriously consider a swirl pot and fuel-pump combo.
