insurance for 2005 wrx ppp
Hi guys newbie here looked at a cracking 2005 WRX PPP today with 50k FSH (most of it prodrive). It has had 3 owners one of my mates own it at present and before him it was a prodrive employee and before him it was prodrive itself. I am really interested in the car but it all depends on insurance I have been on compare websites but there is nowhere to put in that its a PPP so you have to add all modifications from a list, the majority of quotes are coming back 1k which I am not prepared to pay the cheapest so far is about £680 I was hoping to get it lower than this. I have a mate with a 2004 sti and he pays under £500. Is it more expensive to insure a wrx PPP than an sti because the PPP is considered an after market modification rather than tuned by the manufacturer. The car I looked at today has got a tracker fitted.
These are the list of modifications the car has are all these part of the pro drive performance pack or are some extra?
Prodrive wheels, Prodrive rear spoiler, prodrive suspension, prodrive exhaust system (is this stainless steel) half d-cat, ECU and uprated fuel pump. Does anyone know of any subaru friendly insurance companies that they can recommend please.
thanks Rog.

Try the insurance section, Keith Michaels, Sky insurance, A plan etc, the PPP will be a remapped ecu, exhaust system (made by scorpion so yes its 308 grade stainless steel), decat centre section (resonator box replaces the cat), and a nice bit of blue intercooler piping (and a certificate showing when the ppp was fitted and the mileage/date of fitting).
Anything like wheels will be other accessories and will need to be declared independently of the PPP.
No uprated fuel pump or sports cat on a wrx (just to clarify )

I phoned about 3 insurance companies today including Aviva and as yet can't even get them to quote they have'nt heard of a ppp and have declined from quoting .Does'nt make sense they would quote if it was an sti.Try some more tommorow i'm even going to ask prodrive if they recommend anyone,I'm getting concerned because i would love the car but i'm struggling to get a quote so what are the chances of getting a sensible one.

Its underwritten by aviva who actually turned me down when i tried them direct
Paid just over a grand from what i remember....the ppp is classed by aviva as an engine remap, they didnt know what i was refering to when mentioning prodrive either
Good luck
