Post Carbon fibre Question

Not car related, but. I have some carbon fibre sheet (hard and shiny) that i'm using as a picture frame backing, Question is , I want to mount some small items can I use flexible silicone for this purpose?. The item is going to be transported but normally mounted for display purposes, just don't want to use a hardening epoxy as things may shake loose. I hope there is no reaction between the silicone and CF.

cheers

I'm guessing you mean pre-preg carbon fibre sheet? with a shiny finish due to the resin used and not due to a lacquer being used?

If its pre preg I don't see a reason why silicone sealant can't be used, and I'm pretty sure no reaction will occur between the two. I've used some Wurth silicone based adhesive to secure pre preg sheets and they've been fine buddy..

Just make sure you don't get the silicone on any visble areas, its a pig to remove!
