Default Up pipe removal

Has anyone ever removed their up pipe without removing the turbo? Has anyone done it with offset sockets or spanner sockets while leaving it in place?

I am trying to fit my Harvey Up pipe and Gt headers prior to my final mapping session with Andy F.

Yes mate, headers and down pipe need to be removed. You will also need a long extension bar. Pretty easy as long as the studs dont snap. You will also need to undo the O/S engine mount and lift the engine a few inches to get the up-pipe out.

The problem is I cant get to the nuts on the up pipe as some are right under the turbo and there is no way I can get any sort of socket in there.

yes did mine, remove the downpipe remove all the up-pipe bolts/nuts remove the 2 engine mount nuts jack engine up (carefully on a piece of wood for protection of sump) and the up-pipe will slip down, no need for removal of the headers if you were not changing them.

How did you get to the nuts on the up pipe studs? There is two I can't get directly with sockets.

I've removed mine in that I got all of the bolts off, but the Cat wouldn't fit through the gap so I had to remove the turbo anyway. Ratchet spanners, stubby spanners and lots of different extensions from what I recall

Thanks for the replies guys.

Maybe its the 321T I have.

There seems to be an oil inlet pipe in my way. I'll have a go with some crow's feet sockets tomorrow.
