I quite like my full decat with a nur spec, it's too loud for tracks probably, but I really would miss it if I didn't have it

Gone from JapSpeed (very loud) to Miltek (quiet) today. The difference is day and night. All depends on what you want really?

Default vortex de cat

i had a vortex decat and remap and it was scary fast .at high revs it would just keep going 330bhp on remap .but it was dam loud . sounded great though but not for me , and as for the mot don,t think it would have past (the sound and emissions)

I chose an sti genome backbox with deres centre quiet at low revs but sounds superb when opened up, had prodrive backbox before and that sounded good as well with the decat and deresonated centre

Really? I find it loud on acceleration but acceptable at all other times. That said I'm not outside the car

I've got a fully decatted afterburner vortex system, its loud from the outside and perfect from the inside, but i still want a Blitz Nur Spec R with a full decat.

Hayward and Scott all the way. Got the centre pipe with no silencer and back box and it sounds the nuts. And well made. My mechanic who is a perfectionist said it's built and fits better an the prodrive one when I used his ramp to fit it

I've gone vice versa.
In the JDM there's not as much difference as UK model, the equal length headers do a lot to subdue the noise.

My 2p i got a Hayward & Scott installed it....in honesty was little disapointed not very loud and almost std sound. 3 days later it has devloped a low down deeeeep burble that says "im not std but im not chav with dustbin" really like it now

Weirdly opposing yet similar thoughts for me.... I got an H&S centrepipe and "original scoobysport" backbox (both in 2.5" as opposed to 3") in the recent group buy, wanting a quiet system, and I was initially dissapointed that it was too loud.

I felt the volume softened slightly over the next couple of weeks, but I too have now got to the point where I really like it. "a low down deeeeep burble that says "im not std but im not chav with dustbin" is pretty spot-on I reckon.

Milltek a bit quiet for me and Nur spec is a bit over the top. I have now opted for Tornado 3" system from scoobyparts. Sounds awesome in my opinion, and a great price too. They do classic and newage also.
Quite possibly the nicest noise I've heard from an Impreza, but I would say that, lol.
