Life of a OE Clutch?

Life of a OE Clutch?
Hi all,
I've now done 70K in my 54 WRX and am starting to wonder when might be the best time to swap out the factory clutch?
I know these things can usually be felt, ie when slipping, but mine feels pretty much as it did when I bought it at 40K miles. Maybe this is down to driving it nearly everyday?
So my question is when would you expect to replace a standard clutch? Baring in mind its only really used to work and back plus maybe a hand full of launches when the mood strikes.
2ndly with my plans of a remap to take the bhp to around 280-300 I'm guessing a slightly stronger clutch would be a good idea? Would Exedy be a good place to start looking? What sort of price would I be looking at for fitting?
Cheers for you time all.

Dont change it if it aint broken I suppose.
When the clutch starts to slip you will know. It will be in 4th or 5th and above while trying to accelerate from low revs.
The Exedy range is a good one to go for as they are cheap and the pink series can handle up to 400ish lb/ft.

Mine finally gave up two months ago in my03 sti lasted to 80k.
It started to slip when it come and onto boost at 3000 revs , The rev counter would jump from 3000- 4500 revs but the car was going no faster then it would catch again.
Flywheel was changed when the clutch was done. Labour will be a couple of hundred quid took 5 hours to change mine.

My 02 WRX was still on the original clutch when traded in at 110k.
Lots of motorway miles = little wear, waiting on a slope to pull out into traffic and holding it on the clutch = lots of wear.

I wouldn't change it until it starts slipping (unless you have the engine/gearbox out for any reason).

121,000 on my 06 STi Spec D clutch, just being replaced along with the flywheel as the engine is out for headgaskets, but needed doing anyway. Aztec Performance supplied both clutch and flywheel and have great prices and service.
