The maf sensor went on my p1 went the other day I got a new one genuine subaru I fitted it now the car seems to run perfect til you start to boost then it seems to hold back til about 5000 revs then it takes acheiving full boost what would cause it to hold back no fault codes still running a bit lean ne ideas

Could be anything, if she is running lean (any mods?) then your best off going to a good dealer or specialist to have a diagnostic done.

running 407 bhp 1.6 bar boost for some reason it doesnt seem to be as bad in 4th and 5th its more 1st and 2nd

i was just thinking spark plugs but its fine on full boost would it not make it miss a we bit on boost if it was the pluggs

Drive it off boost and get it into your trusted garage/specialist or to your mapper.

ye i should but a ferry trip a 300 mile drive prob av to stay a night and its a bit of a distance when it could be something simple

So,are you saying all was 100% with the car before the MAF failed ?
Then the MAF failed, you replaced it with the correct one and brand new ?

Now it has this fault ?

If so, maybe it needs remapping to suit the new MAF as the new/old units gave different readings to the ECU ???

how long did you run with the failed maf,maybe its caused other internal problems ?

with the mods you have,no simple guess/fix over the net i dont think,needs the technical knowhow etc of a mapper with their magic kit i guess
