Default Advice on MY05 chassis vs MY06-08 chassis for isofix child seat

I am looking to by a car seat for our 4 year old and am keen to go for an isofix seat if at all possible.

The two contenders were the recaro monza isofix and the britax kidfix (or new kidfix sict). Which? magazine tested both these seats and did not rate the recaro at all well for frontal impact safety, so I would like to go for the britax. However...

Britax has a fit finder section on the website and for MY02-05 it does not say that you can fit the kidfix or kidfix sict. I called Britax to ask whether this was just because they hadn't tested the seat in the MY02-05 chassis and they said that could be the case but not to risk it as it could have been tested and found to be unsuitable.

However, the kidfix (but not kidfix sict) is approved for the MY06-08. That seems odd to me as I thought the chassis for MY06-08 was exactly the same as the MY05 chassis.

Can anyone confirm whether this is the case? Also, can anyone confirm whether the rear seats in the MY06-08 are identical to those in the MY05? That's the only other thing that I imagine could have any bearing.

Thanks gents (and ladies)

I'm guessing the lack of replies means I waffled on a bit too much above!

Simple question is whether the chassis and rear seats of the blob eye MY02-05 are identical to those of the hawke eye MY06-08?

Can anyone confirm?

rear seats in a blobeye are identical to seats in a hawkeye, hatch seats are different. I have fitted recaro young sports and profi plus to my old blobeye, then hatch and now hawkeye. Hope this helps

Thumbs up

Thanks for the info guys.

I thought they must be absolutely the same, but it's very helpful to get confirmation.
