anyone used this outfit for car hire???
I did - must say I was very impressed, had a 355 for 10 days, took it over to south of France for a driving and skiing holiday. The car was in tip-top order and the cost was not too bad considering.
I` ll try the 360 next time!

The ferrari isn't cheap...
but would a sentence that read "Wow! the ferrari is cheap" sound right?
(dime bar voice) *FERRARI* *Fer-Rar-Ri*!! lol
I am truly tempted. It's about the same cost as a half decent weekend away to hire one for the day, but I GUARANTEE you'll remember it for longer.
Especially if you took the wife for the weekend away!!
Cheers

Platinum Hire must have glass doors on entry, as they must be able to see these mugs coming!
I would think that anyone paying that sort of dosh would need to SEE a psychiatrist not BE a psychiatrist!

I think you'll find that Ronnie's prices are on the cheaper end for ferrari hire.
Also many companies(music/film etc) will use companies like Ron's to source cars for videos/shoots etc. MUCH cheaper than buying them.
If you look at the cars Platinum has, they have all had to be paid for and insured. Costs of up to 30 grand are not unknown just to insure a ferrari for example. The reason why they cost more than your average Avis Mondeo is the simple fact that these cars cost ten times the amount to buy and run.
Say Avis do car hire for 90 quid a day for a mondeo. For a car ten times the price it's right that the price should be ten times the amount!
Don't forget that scoobynetters get a discount.
There's also been some bad press recently about car hire(normal and prestige) companies faking damage so as they can grab your substanical deposit.
Ronnie and the rest of platinum would NEVER EVER do anything like that.
One of my rules in life, is once you find a good company that does a superb job for a reasonable price you stick with it.
Ronnie has'nt paid me to say this(though a ferrari drive would be nice but I can say in no way would he charge ripoff prices. Have a flick through car mags and see what other companies charge.
Do I get my free drive now Ron

Cheers Neil. You are right, the cost of insuring is the main cost, not just that of the cost of the cars.
Scooby, thanks for your comments.
Some people pay £1700.00 for an ecu, because thats a decent rate for something that they will enjoy. They get it at a competitive rate and the product is good. Of course there are the cynics and those that think selling a product for XXX are taking customers for "Mugs" however we have managed to get our prices totally in-line with the rest of the market (better rates on nearly all) on start-up and not whack our prices up and begin to try to manipulate markets as some companies do to you and I day in day out.
Some people have a mate who will lend them a 355 worth £70,000 for their wedding one day, some are not so lucky and have the chance to rent one. We are not trying to rip their arms off and take them for mugs, simply offer a product with no frills and a decent customer service whereby you will not be taken for a mug.
We have set out to make it fair for Scoobynetters and support Scoobynet. This is not our market but because I have been around for a while approached Simon with an offer that he would use to benefit anyone who might need a car like this one day. Simon aims to have it all benefit all of the Scoobynet members, we should remember that.
I could of advertised at full r.r.p however we decided to be the supporter of scoobynet that gave its members 110% attention and also a discount.
If you think we are taking people for mugs, then thats an opinion you are entitled too. For those that know me, you will know its not in my intrest to have even thought about it.
We are soon to be offering driver supervision packages at a very competitive rate on some of the cars, and also supervision rates with a Police Drving Instructor as part of our packages. This is something that no other prestige car hire firm offers, and you don't have to be the cheapest to be the best.
Regards
Ronnie.

Guys & Gals,
I would just to like to re-iterate what has been said about Ferrari hire in general, I think you'll find if you compare Platinum's rates to other firms that deal in hire of such luxurious vehicles, that there prices are more than competative. As for the P1, just to set some of you straight, you do realise the insurance is the killer on this one, its the same weighting under group 20 as a Ferrari 550.
Ronnie, keep up the good work and the good prices, especially the ScoobyNet discounted ones. Top job lad, more than generous of you.
Rgds, Alex

I have very little to add on this, i know nothing about running a business such as Prestige Car Hire.
What i do know is the personality behind the Business. I have known Ronnie for around 12 months now. During that time, everything he has told me has been truthfull. Whenever we have aranged something it has happened exactly as he said it would.
I consider Ron to be a good friend, someone i can trust.
The only endorsement i can give Platinum Hire is a personal one about the man behind the business as i have not been in the fortunate position of hiring one of his fleet yet.
When it comes to hiring a Ferrari, which i will be doing in summer for a wedding, i will be using Platinum Hire because i trust the person running the business 100%.
Good luck with Platinum Hire Ron, i look forward to seeing the business thrive.
