Default Gearbox rebuild?

Hello guys.

Right could some 1 please answer a couple of questions for me..
1st & 2nd gear are whining on my 1999 wagon.

1. Were is a good place around the yorkshire area to have it fixed?

2. At what sort of cost is it roughly?

3. Is there anything i can put in to make it a better box? IE better acceleration, top speed or stronger?

4. Finally how hard are they to do yourself? Could i source a full kit of some sort?

Thanks for any advice lads,

Wayne.

Hello fella. If you can pop the box out I would have to say get it sent to API and have them rebuild it. Give David O'Brien a call and have a nice chat with him. Never any obligations and he genuinely cares about every car which passes through. When my box went BOOM in December 2007 on my last Impreza the car was recovered to Scoobybits who were then in Rotherham, now in Cornwall. The box was taken out and sent to API where they built me a reconditioned one and kept my old box in p/x. £900 for that, obviously more for a higher spec.
