around the 700 mark or more mate, a good paint work finish is down to the prep work
so if you had it painted and it didnt come out very good you would be to blame where if you paid a place to do it then if it came out wrong they would re-paint until you're happy.

If you think that seems alot mate you shouldn't be thinking about having a respray done,i just finished a Alfa 156 respray which was £2860!

Couldn't agree more tbho, ive had plenty of cars brought to me where the customer thought it was ready for paint, the standards needed for a perfect paint job are way beyond most DIYer's due to poor materials and lack of knowledge to get things straight and true.

Don't forget it's an Alfa not subaru Jon
Also that was a job taken from start to finish with no work done by the customer.
I completed a split screen camper last week as well and that one went over 4.5k which started off at a £500 touch up!!

i know resprays are alot , but the time is in the prep. surely applying the paint doesnt cost 6-700 quid !and as a solid white is the most forgiving colour when it comes to prep , im sure my 14 years experience is capable of doin a good job ? a tad better than diy ! damn 600 quid aint bad for a days work !!!!

Your paying for 'experience/skill' as well as the material cost mate,it takes a drop of colour and clear to do a hole car too!
Edit-and booths don't come free and run themselves either!

Agreed. I had a 'cheap' job done once. 3 weeks later it was back into a different bodyshop to be done properly.

Happens all the time I had the front end blown over on one of my previous cars. A month later a whole sheet of lacquer came off due to it being masked to save time.

Another trip to a proper shop.......

Get it wrapped in white vinyl for similar money. Just the respray itself from a decent company will be £1000.00

Unless you go to bare metal for a colour change/full respray this is the best route imho. preparing a car is a lot different to home decorating, the level of finish is far, far higher.

The was a thread about vinyl wrapping earlier this year, try a search for a recommendation but in the mean time this came up: https://www.scoobynet.com/non-scooby...-your-car.html
