Complete Car Clean Process Help
Hi guys, I know the thread title may be a little mis-leading but my original thread (Meguiars vs Auto Glym) was becoming a little off topic.
I am extremely happy with my new Scooby and went and bought some product yesturday to keep it clean and maintained. I just want someone to confirm the process I am about to take with my car cleaning to make sure im using the right products at the right stage of the process etc.
Step five is what I need to confirm is the correct process onwards.
1. Wash down with water
2. Meguiars Gold Class car wash/Conditioner with warm water
3. Wash down with water
4. Dry
5. Auto Glym Super Resin Polish buffed until see-thru with no clumps left
6. Meguiars Gold Class Liquid wax buffed then wiped off
The two processes and products im unsure about are step 5 and 6. am I right with what I am about to do? Do I need to use the Auto Glym SRP first until se-thru and then the Meg's Auto Wax?
Please help, I just want to give the best clean on the car when I do it
Thanks for any useful input.

Thanks Gonzo, im just trying to get responce to the process as I know that Meg's and the Auto Glym are great products, but if I do the process wrong theres no point in me doing it at all.
I just need to take the Meg's X Scratch back for some Auto Glym SRP.

I use all Autoglym products , from stage 1- 6, after using the SRP, I use Autoglyms High definition wax. this is a supurb product I think so? easy to use and lasts well, 4-6 months.
This product just adds a hard wax , so some hard work with the SRP is needed. I have purchased their Aqua wax, which is used after a wash , with out having to dry the car. This is also a good way off topping up the Ultimate wax , so Autoglym say? I will know after I get to use it.

Give it a go mate there nothing wrong with what your proposing, Its very addictive this car detailing, I'm always on "detailing World" and have spent a small fortune on products. I'm currently using most of the Dodo juice range which is brilliant, Its become a bit of a hobby now

I use Mguires cleaning wax after drying. The amount of rubbish that comes out of the paint is disgusting. Then a layer of wax, then a layer of resin.
It get rids of any swirls or roughness in the paint as well and leaves it feeling like glass.

if you want the best then you should use following steps:
- rinse car
- wash car with 2 bucket method
- rinse down (can wash again at this stage if you want)
- clay bar the car
- polish it (preferred all round polish is autoglym super resin)
- wax it (either meguiars or if you want a really long lasting use collinite)

Be warned with detailing world it can make you see every flaw in your car which will drive you mad. My full (paint) clean now consists of:
1. Snow foam
2. Rinse
3. Two bucket wash
4. Rinse
5. Iron X and Tardis
6. Rinse
7. Clay
8. Rinse
9. 2 bucket wash
10. Rinse
11. Polish with DA
12. Rinse
13. Apply Black hole
14. Wax
15. Final buff with quick detailer
I only do this when necessary as it takes bloody ages to do so I try and look after the paint as well as possible but subaru paint is so soft I'm sure just looking at it put swirl marks in it.
My usual wash is just steps 1-4 and 15, I top up the wax every couple of months.
