I fitted mine in the large top radiator hose but it requires an adaptor for the sensor which then fits into the hose. I sourced the adaptor at R-Spec, Bicester, it has connection point for earth to the car body.

That will depend on your car and model year.

Mine is a classic 98 car, it has a 38mm i/d top hose.

The adaptor on mine came from Demon Tweeks, it DOESN'T have an earth point so I added one from a large ring terminal I filed up. You could also drill and either tap, or put a self tapper into the thicker part of the adaptor, but DON'T go all the way through

If you tell them what sender you are using, what gauge or even look on the gauge/sender instructions you will know what threads to get.

On mine, the Defi gauge, being the most accurate, has been placed where the OE gauge was, the OE gauge is on the tophose, I slightly extended it's lead.

When I cut my tophose, manipulating it caused it to split soon after, so if yours isn't new, think about maybe getting a new one, around £8 from a motor factor.

yes 38mm was the one for my newage, think the sensor fittings are universal, £12.50 + small postage from R-spec

Sender fittings aren't universal, I had a choice of quite a few different threads

IIRC, mine was 1/8th NPT
