Default Finally decided!

How do chaps! After much deliberation I've decided to keep my00 turbo 2000 Uk classic. I have a bit of knock at the mo so have decided on a standard rebuild. Been quoted £1800 by a local specialist and £2000 by another, that sound about right? Really excited to have a fresh block in my car, have been considering also a Fmic and an ecutek remap and possibly swapping td04 to td05 as all I have at the mo is catback exhaust and hks ssqv. Is the ecutek best choice for my car or is it worth changing the ecu? Also any recommendations on specialists I'm in the midlands.

Try Ivan at Foresters, he quoted me a bit cheaper than that, but because of future mods that will be done, gone for a forged stiv8 from sw motorsport. Hope this helps mate.

Just wondering, should i keep the td04 or upgrade to a td05? anyone?

Oh and what sort of power do u reckon i could aquire from remap after rebuild with race gaskets/bearings, is it worth me getting a forge build? How much power will a uk gearbox cope with??

Sorry for all the questions getting over excited!!!

I'm going for a AFP04, TD04. Will be upgrading fueling, cooling and induction next year.
Between 250-270 i would gestimate, depending on your other mods. Clutch and gearbox should be ok upto 300bhp, again dependant on age ect.
