Mine is badly worn on an 05 WRX Blob. Local dealer has quoted me £30 for the part but how difficult is it to replace? I have seen the stereo removal pics so can see its easy enough to pull the panel out but how difficult is it to remove and then reset the gaitor into the surround. Anyone done this?

easy on a classic mate must be the same on a blob .

 

I have an 06 WRX to which I fitted a replacement gaiter, it took around ten minutes to do.

There is an insert that goes inside the gaiter which traps it into the surround and pops out quite easily, to be honest I fitted my new leather one over the top of the old one with no issues. The gear know simply unscrews off the selector shaft.
