wrx sti ppp

I have come to the conclusion that it is likely that I will be putting my MY05 STi PPP up for sale I just don't drive it enough due to my commute and needing a car for work purposes. I get to use the scooby once a week and my mrs drives it the rest of the time as she doesn't do many miles.

So...assuming I sell it (given the rubbish state of the used car market)...what to get next? I travel at least 60 miles a day (A and B roads) just to get to work and may do that much again, with town work added. Here's my shortlist, cos MPG is going to have to be a consideration seeing as I have averaged 24mpg for the last 7 months...

BMW E46 320d or 330ci
Audi A3 2.0 TDi (140)
VW Golf MK5 GTI or GTD

any advice on these cars or suggestions of others please? Got to have reasonable economy, quality interior, an involving drive, a little bit of ooompph. Thanks.
