How is it possible that Mercedes-Benz and BMW hat such poor reliability marks?

Thats why I would have a Subi over a Merc/BMW any day.

Owner expectation. Buy a Mercedes and expect perfection, give a low score for the slightest fault. Buy a Kia expecting problems, give a high mark because you're delighted when they don't materialise.

Buy a Subaru, alienate your friends on the grounds of bad tase and watch your engine blow up
