Default Sigh.. Rear Screen exploded...

Anyone else with a newage had a rear screen shatter?

Was driving down the M25 today, Huge Bang, turned around to see the rear screen complelety shattered but still in one piece with no obvious holes
pretty sure the rear screen heater wasnt on either :/

it started to fall apart and i pulled over to the hard shoulder to clean up as much of the glass as i could

Just seems odd it went without any thing obvious causing it :|

i cant remeber hitting anything, or seeing anything, just the large bang that made me nearly sht myself heh

i just hope the bad luck doesnt come in threes..

i guess its covered like the front screen is on the insurance, with the excess payable.
will give admiral a call tomorrow

o and for any of you with sharp eyes, that ripspeed logo is my friends idea of a joke and is coming right off the rear passenger side tomorrow!

I had a rear 1/4 shatter in the same way on my old Focus ST and it certainly wakes you up! I put mine down to a stone chipped up by a passing car or lorry on the M40. At first after hearing the bang I thought a tyre had blown but I quickly realised the car was still under control and looked over my shoulder to find a stattered window

just hoovered out aload of glass, and fished out two carrier bags worth :\
its feckin everywhere, any one with good tips to get all the tiny bits ?

not gonna do much more till the blokes been and removed the rest of the glass and fitted the new screen (after readin reviews of national windscreens it should be fun seeing the job they do....)

Gotta wait for the glass from Japan possibly?! ...

also the rip speed logo has gone now!

replaced with this for abit , as i thought its much better

For those interested he had to take the boot lid off and rear top spoiler to easily get at the glass :d

well turns out never goes simple for me...

ive noticed they havent fitted the rear plastic runs either side of the rear window properly
was dark when he was doing it, so not overly surprised, and i missed it at the time too

national windscreens turned up today and said they wouldnt touch it, as they reckon they wont be able to sort it w/o breaking the window :|
gotta wait for the manager to get involved down....

i could tell they were hoping id just go with it and leave it as is...
