Default Painting a fmic

Hi all.

I have recently got a fmic and before fitting I was thinking about painting it. Would it damage it in anyway? Or drastically reduce the efficiency of it?

Thanks andy.

Be very careful pepping it, do not bend the fins.

Clean it with a soft brush and solvent/paint thinner and hang it up to dry then you can paint/spray it. I would spray it through personal preference. use an etch primer then the colour.

Had two powdercoated satin black in the past one hyperflow and one hyperflow monster no problem and very hard wearing, you really need to make sure the powder coating company understand how fragile these things can be and not to overdo the powder on the cooling fins.

Bad idea for several reasons. Paint forms a thermal barrier so it will perform below optimum and a dust coat will need continual touch up after a few months.

I'd have to agree with harvey: once painted, you'll be re-doing it all the time or it'll look shyte. I had my lower grille meshed and I was because it did
