Default Which oil for air filter?

I recently acquired a used performance air filter (blue colour) I gave it a good soaking in warm water with some Fairy liquid then rinsed it off and stuck it in the dishwasher (live alone so no wife to nag me about that ) My question is, what kind of oil should I used to spray on it? I assume some sort of light hydraulic oil would be ok. I know that if I use WD40 it will dry out quickly.

No it doesn't. Without oil it wont filter efficiently unless its a dry type (like apexi). Check out the jetex website, they sell a cleaning kit with a blue oil to reapply.
