Default 500bhp Build

Who would you guys recommend the most to do a 500hp engine build?
I've had work done before by APi on my previous scoob including engine rebuilt (bottom end) and the gearbox but now am going to be starting a new project and going for 500bhp

So far looked at APi, Scooby Clinic and Roger Clark

Anyone had a big build done by the above before????

Quality and attention to detail. Its the small things that make a great car, No RCM project car is identical; they are all evolutions with parts coming off their time attack cars to keep them at the top of the tree.

Not saying any of the other people you have said wouldn’t do i great job i am sure they would, The RCM experience is very special and in the end you get what you want.

Thing is though you could say that about other tuners, some of which run more race cars and have more success.

Eurospec 2000, built my 500 bhp GTO, easily could be around 700 but didnt have enough money for even bigger turbos, daily driven for the last 8-9 months, was a expensive build but well worth it due to warrantee etc given by them..

You always have to use RCM parts in a big build so why not use them out right The parts the use are tried and tested quality parts that work in high end builds, why take a chance on your engine for cheaper parts???

Agree with Steve.

RCM will also offer advice, supply and fit/build - one stop shop and all under one roof! Reputation is second to none.

what makes you think that? alot of RCM parts are rebrands of others.

Tidgy, I don't know what they rebrand or even if they do ?? I was just using an example of a part which is pretty crucial in a big build. I doubt Jun would copy RCM so it would only leave it to fall another way. I have heard of Jun verniers killing engines but I have never heard of RCM ones doing that. Most of there parts are guaranteed plug and play wwhereas other people you maay need to spend a little more cash to get things working?

Can't understand why if you have had work done by API and were happy why you would not go back and have them do a 500plus big build, I am sure it would not be their first nor would it be the last!

Plenty of tuners out there that have been mentioned, the clinc, engine tuner etc, if money was no object I think 99.9% would have RCM build it just to say it's an RCM built car lol, if money was an object and is for most then for me David and the team at API would already have the car and me pestering them daily to find out when it was ready

Best of luck but

Why do you want a 500+ build? You planning on using it properly or just spanking best part of 15-20 grand to drive to the shops and back, pub talk and 2-3 track days a year?

Just give Alan a ring at Engine Tuner, he won't bullsh1t you by telling you need stuff when you don't and will give you progress reports too! I received either a phone call or PM every couple of days letting me know how the build was going
