I have a feeling of de ja vous here

Ok, engine is 80% different, twin scroll turbo, equal length headers, different internals, better crank etc
3 versions available in the MY03/04 form, the Spec C, the KL povety spec and the GL.
We will concentrate on the GL.

If you go for an MY05 car then its going to still have all these over a UK except the A-DCCD.
So the GL has A-DCCD, quick rack steering, folding electric mirrors, i/c auto and manual water spray, privacy glass on the rear windows/rear screen, HIDS (if they have not been replaced), higher revving engine (8k redline), more power out of the box, the MY04/05's are "factory" rated at 280ps, 290lbs of torque but usually push over 300bhp and torque, rear wash/wipe and alot of other goodies.

Specification list here>>> if you play around you can find more info too

Technically speaking, they are both from Japan. If the car was posted as a type uk, either the advertiser is or doesn't know any better.

ive got a classic Sti and purchased it knowing the spec is better the others, apart from p1, 22b... I only asked, because from the pics ive seen of this so called 'type uk' has a rear wiper. Other then that i cant see any other difference with the photos given. I think the rear bumper is different too. Il add a link later

Hmmm for these years its the one that has the most advancements, from 2005 onwards they are closer but the Spec C is a little more hard core, the standard STI is more relaxing to drive

i see...
thanks for the advice
my sti is fun, but soooooo stiff, i live on the isle of wight and the roads are bad.
i couldnt really afford to run it with the mileage i was doing so a type uk would be the ideal option for me.
but i think id be a little p*ss*d off if i had a classic over taking me

I doubt you would find much difference, the suspension is still pretty firm on the UK STI's, you would need a wrx if you wanted a softer ride, or adjustable suspension.

Wr1 is a Peter solberg special edition in a unique colour with black trim has dccd unlike uk cars if same year and has 3 port boost solenoid and different map to uk ppp car also has 18 inch alloys, still not as good as jdm though and my05 cars are better still. They do hold a premium over STD cars.

Yup, I have pushed mine to a limit and changed that many parts but the JDM is the best version to mod and worthy of a premium.

The JDM STI/spec c is better than the EVO out of the box

As said before JDM,s are the better car. Better equipped for a start and I believe stronger mechanically. Steve.

The differences between mine and Jags are minimal, specs are soo close! He makes more power than mine as he has a race fuel map Mine runs 10% meths so obviously mine will have less power

I can remember reading the 05 Jdm Sti standard with wider track and a change to intercooler shape ie tank facing fire wall came with 303lbt at 4400rpm .This was reading Litchfield imports website back in 05 and the 04 Jdm Sti torque figure was less can't remmember how much it was
