I had one in MY98 UK I dont think it did anything to be honest, it wasnt noticeable. They use to be fitted as part of the PPP upto and including MY98 buth they then stopped. Mine went funny after a few thousand miles so I went back to a paper filter. Most people seem to fit either K&N or ITG panel filters. A panel filter is not going to give you a big increase but they filter for longer so when your paper one starts to go off they stay remain more constant. Thats what I have heard anyway.

Cheers
