Default Nitromors Sti

Has anybody tried getting off the painted sti off the intercooler?What did you use,was it succesful?

I cant for the life of me think why you would want too but you goning to have the go down the chemical route....try terps.......long as your not pouring it around it will be fine, with a rinse afterwards.


Cold engine would'nt hurt either!

I just rubbed it down to get the flakey paint of,then acid etched it primer then the silver Sorry missread you want the sti off?? tricky id paint over it

let me explain,i am putting a sti intercooler on my wrx.I want the sti taken off the intercooler.

I would leave it on, any sort of scrubbing/rubbing on the veins will bend them, its pretty easy to do, even a fly can do it (abeit at 50mph )

Na cant be any worse than some engine cleaners....the TMIC is virtually open to the elements anyways, sure it would be fine.....paint stripper!!

You will have to make sure all traces are off when you finish,that stuff will eat away at the alloy fins,i think id use a small artists brush to do just the red bits rather than covering the whole face,because its a bit thick and not the easiest thing to get off. You cant put high pressure water on it ,ive seen this done on moto x bikes and it flattens the fins.

well i had a go with nitromoors,not the best results.Will try again when i dont feel so p....d off.Tempted to buy a cover but they seem bloody expensive.
