Default mapping a standard sti

hi,just wondering what gains will be had by mapping a standard 1998 sti type r with an apexi power fc? car is completely oe with oe exhaust in place.i dont want to change this as i need to keep car quiet. i would rather just have it mapped for uk fuel with possibly a walbro and 3 port?
car is running standard power as was dyno tested at alan jeffery enginnering........267/251.
thoughts please??

Think it has a Walbro fuel pump/3 port and the ecu is a Simtek but imo the ecu shouldn't make much difference just the person who maps it.

so was this with both the cats still in place(downpipe and mid section) and the original sti backbox?

hmmm,i know every car is different but mine was mapped inly a few weeks ago, completely standard and achieved 267/251.so surely i can expect over 300 bhp with 3 port and walbro?
any reasons why your first dyno test was down on power as 238 seems quite low for a standard type r?

That's at the wheels I just posted it to show the boost.
These dynos are actually from the person I bought it off but I've not changed anything since.

that seems large gains from just the ecu, pump and 3 port, that means i would gain in the region of 30-40bhp and 40-50lb ft,does that seem reasonable?

I would personally get a quiet decat and then map it. More gains. Alcazar on here has an uber quiet 3" system and runs over 400 of each on a 2.5l bottom end. It's very subtle.

You only have a cat in the downpipe. Centre is just a resonator pipe.

Not if you get a sports cat downpipe. Will be quiet too. But if you want to waste remap money just for fueling purposes when you could get more power with a quiet cat back system... Your car.

No it didn't. I had a MY99 uk turbo too and can confirm it has ONE cat in the downpipe. The centre resonator keeps the noise down. I had a decat nur spec r on said uk turbo which had a resonator in the centre section. Helped with motorway drone.

i dont feel that it would be a waste at all,as u can see from the above graphs that there are plenty of gains to be had without removing the catted downpipe.i realise you would get more from a decat/sports cat, just not really what i want to do with this car.
