Default price of v-power against sul

most of the shell stations i go to, v-power is around 6p to 7p more than sul.

but today

sul £130.9
v-p £138.9

no that is a big jump to the normal price difference over the last few years!

anywhere else the same?

Every Shell I know V-Power is 8p more than normal unleaded.

Last year it was 7p difference, but changed late in the year (can't remember when).

Tesco Momentum is 5p more than NUL.

Where I am Shell unleaded is cheaper than Tesco, but Tesco 99 is cheaper than V-Power.

Our local Shell is now asking 8p more for V-Power too.

Not long ago it used to be 6p/l more then 7p and now 8p....I'm not sure why the cost of V-Power is going up faster than standard unleaded

Sainsbury SUL is only 97 RON. Shell V-Power and TESCO Momentum are 99 RON.

97 RON is OK once in a while for a splash and go but for JDM Scoobs not in the long term as they are not designed to run on it. 97 RON will also reduce the performance.

Guys only picked up my Hatch STi PPP on Friday and to date only went to Shell which is 'kinna' local for me.

Is Tesco 99 as good as putting in Shell V Power or should I try to stick to the Shell?

Just curious.

I asked this at Christmas and the general opinion was that V-Power and Tesco 99 were are good an one-another. Even more so if your car is mapped on Tesco 99.

Bit odd. I found it the otherway round. I've even been filling the misses car up with Shell or V Power as it's worked out cheaper than Tesco for instance.

Yes, V-Power is 8p more than NUL at my local Shell ( 136.9/128.9) At my local Tesco NUL is dearer at 129.9 but Momentum 134.9
Surprisingly, Shell has dropped 2p in the last week!

Been running mine on Sainsbury super for ages and recently tescos. Runs great on both. Think you are safer sticking to supermarket super as you are pretty sure they wont be selling regular unleaded through their v power pumps and pocketing the extra 8p a litre.
i wouldnt be surprised if this is the main reason why all the hatches are going pop.

i remember seeing a review a while back comparing normal unleaded, v-power, and tesco99. v-power actually gave slightly more power, but only by a few bhp. i dont think it makes much difference in real terms really.

the thing that makes me laugh is that when you turn up at the pump, and there is a little sticker that says "studies show that cars go further on Momentum99". well, they may do, but it cost you 5-8p more per litre... haha
